ARTISTS - CHANTAL ACDA

Chantal Acda is a singer from Antwerp who has been active in the music scene for two decades. On her artistic path, she met many talented musicians and producers. A longtime collaborator of Chantal is the renowned jazz drummer Eric Thielemans (privately the artist’s husband). She was also accompanied by the Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Borgar Magnason (associate of Sigur Ros and Damien Rice). Joint concerts with the legendary guitarist Bill Frisell were immortalized on one of the live albums. Nils Frahm and Peter Broderick were responsible for the production of Acda’s recordings. The Belgian is still looking for new impulses and inspirations, also looking for them outside Europe. She invited 18 friends to record the album “Saturday Moon” (premiere on March 26 this year), including musicians from the legendary American group Low. Thanks to all of them, the new acoustic ballads of Chantal gained spatial, multi-level arrangements. Chantal’s warm, vibrating voice sounds confident and grand in this unusual sound setting.
